History

1948

Alice and Oskar Merz-Meyer establish the company on the ‘Blumenstrasse’ in St. Margrethen. Fabricating lathe parts and milling work for paid labor.

1954

Company moves to the ‘Industriestrasse 8’, the first “MERZROLLER” is manufactured; the daily production is transported by bicycle to the neighborhood lacquer-man. The premises were enlarged three times.

1955

The first “MERZROLLER” bottle drawers for the refrigerating industry are being produced.
 

1959

The company is transformed into a ‘limited company’, still owned by the family Merz.

1960

Refrigerator slides program: Bottle, sausage and food drawers’

1964

Company moves to the ‘Industriestrasse 35’.

1966

The production facility undergoes expansion.

1967

Iron ware program: single extension, full extension and progressive action slides

1968

First generation of the office – metal drawers comes to be.

1970

Expansion: ware house, tool building department

1975

Office drawer slides made of plastic are introduced to the market.

1980

Merz-Meyer begins to produce office metal drawers – BMS 1.

1983

The design of our sales documents are changed.

1984

Expansion: assembly facility
 

1985

The office metal drawers undergo further developing – BMS 2 is introduced to the market.

1989

Expansion: high-rise warehouse

1990

Development of the office program CLASSIC

1991

Expansion: welding facility, research and development department.

1992

Installation of our 500 ton pressing machine including its feeder.

1993

Expansion: powder coating facility

1995

Development of the office program CARAT.

Installation of rollforming machine and our drawer welding machine.

1996

A draft of our quality management system is drawn up according to ISO 9001.

1997

Certification of our quality management system on 11 September 1997.

1998

The warehouse is transformed into a further production facility.

2003

Development of our flipper door MR 136.

2004

Development of our progressive action slide MR 713 H and our damper (shock absorber).

2005

A straightening machine is added to our 500 ton pressing machine.

2007

Purchase of the Merz-Meyer AG by Fulterer Auszugsysteme GmbH and integration into the Fulterer Group

2009

Merz-Meyer AG change the trade name to MerzRoller AG
